# How are the prices of swiDOC determined?
swiDOC prices are based on the number of users, the storage capacity, and the subscription term. The more users and storage space you need, the higher the price. With a contract longer than one year, you benefit from lower rates.
# Do I need to install anything?
No, there is no need to install anything since swiDOC is a web application. You can simply access it through your preferred browser and start archiving and managing documents right away.
# Can I pay monthly?
Yes, swiDOC offers both monthly and yearly payment options.
# Which payment methods are accepted?
You can pay either by credit card or by invoice.
# Which features can I use during the trial period?
During the free trial, you have access to all swiDOC features, such as:
- Uploading and archiving documents
- Finding and downloading documents
- Adding multiple users
- Monitoring archive access and edits
# What happens after the free trial ends?
After the trial ends, your access to swiDOC will expire unless you subscribe to a paid plan.
If you subscribe before the trial ends, your account and documents remain active.
If you subscribe later, you regain access to your data.

Yes, you can change your plan at any time. For example, if you need more storage or users, you can easily upgrade.

swiDOC offers two models for trustees:
- A reseller model, where you resell licenses to clients.
- A client model, where you can manage multiple companies/clients within one account.

No, with the trustee starter package you can manage up to 5 companies under one license.

A digital archive is a protected data space for electronically storing files and documents.
# Do I still need to print and file my documents?
No! swiDOC is certified according to Swiss regulations (KRM) for electronic archiving.
# Why do I need a digital archive?
A digital archive ensures that important documents are stored securely, legally compliant, and protected. It also makes it easy to organize, search, and manage documents — without physical storage.
# Is swiDOC a document management system (DMS)?
No, swiDOC is not a full DMS. It focuses on archiving — secure, legally compliant long-term storage of business documents.
# Is SharePoint compliant?
No. SharePoint offers some features like restricted access and change logs, but it cannot guarantee long-term data integrity as required by GeBüV.
# Which documents must I archive?
As a company, you are legally required to archive documents such as ledgers, tax-relevant records, contracts, or business correspondence.
# Which correspondence must be archived?
Any communication that includes invoices, orders, or contracts must be archived. Since it is often difficult to separate, swiDOC recommends archiving all emails and deleting them after 10 years.

# Does swiDOC have an API?
Yes, swiDOC provides an API.
# What happens to my documents if I cancel?
If you cancel, your data can be deleted within 3 months. Until then, you can export your documents and migrate them to another system.
# What if I change my accounting software or trustee?
As long as you have an active license, your documents remain archived in compliance with regulations. If you change your trustee, you can adjust access rights or switch your account to an SME plan.

# Can I prove the authenticity of my documents?
Yes, each document receives a digital fingerprint (“hash”) that is stored on the blockchain. This allows you to prove authenticity at any time.
# Are the data encrypted?
Yes, your data is stored in an ISO 27001-certified data center in Switzerland and encrypted with AES-256. Staff has no direct access to document content.
# Where is my data stored?
In Switzerland, in an ISO 27001-certified data center.
# Is 10GB of storage enough?
For many SMEs, yes. If you need more storage, you can easily upgrade.
However, videos and high-resolution images should not be archived in swiDOC.
# How can I keep my data compliant after canceling?
You can export your data (for a flat fee of CHF 300) as a ZIP file with the identical folder structure.
# Where can I find the Data Processing Agreement (DPA)?
You can request a DPA from swiDOC if needed (e.g., by email).
